Oh yes, it’s that time of year again. Tis the season to be happy, but after the year we have all had, this Christmas may just shape up to be one of our most important yet… Let’s not beat around the Christmas tree, 2020 has not been filled with much joy. Its been a debilitating, sad, confusing and challenging time for us as a world community. We have experienced monumental loss on a global scale with anxiety and depression rates skyrocketing.
But during this global tragedy, there is one thing we can draw upon. Our resilience and our sense of hope.
With many people opting out of toy buying this year in favour of wholesome time with family and friends and experiences that build memories and bonds rather than things, here is a simple activity you can do at home with your family that is sure to put a smile on your child’s dial.
It’s called The Christmas Hokey Pokey and it’s just plain fun. Depending on what restrictions you have in place, this activity may need to be done with a mask, it’s a wonderful action song to perform with your little one/s. Get creative with whatever you put in the circle.
